Hi! It’s been a busy year for me as a doula, a student midwife and life in general. While it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged, it’s been on my mind each time I sit down. But sitting down at my computer typically entails editing birth photos, answering messages and emails, studying and/or reading doula and midwifery textbooks. But, alas, it has been a wonderfully beautiful and busy year, and there has been little time for blogging. At least for me. I’ve said before, I’m not a writer so to add a ‘few words’ takes me a few hours. 😛 I was contemplating adding some pictures on FB earlier but decided it might be a good time to take a few hours to blog a few words, and add a few pictures here instead.
We’ve had 5 weddings this year, several bridal showers and a baby shower. And the year isn’t even over yet! To start, our daughter, Stephenie, was married on May 6, 2017. She married an extraordinary man, Jake Schiller. We feel incredibly blessed that our prayers were answered when this wonderful man came into our daughter’s life and later asked her to be his wife. We are over the moon excited that he is part of our family! Everything about their wedding day was perfect! It was the most beautiful day, gorgeous venue, stunningly beautiful bride, handsome groom…I could go on and on! So grateful they had a really great photographer who captured the essence of the day. I did not pick up my camera the entire day, and it felt so good to be fully present to enjoy all the memorable moments of love that were everywhere that day. My niece, Lacey, closed up the wedding season with another gorgeous wedding on November 4, 2017, when she married her mate, Nate. #prattherup they say. 😉 Was so happy to have been there with my camera in hand to capture a few pictures of her radiance and beauty while she and her bridal party were getting ready. I’ve also added a few pictures from her bridal shower a few weeks earlier.

SISTERS!

My niece was a stunning bride!

Lacey’s wonderful new mother-in-law, Rochelle, with one of her granddaughters.

These bridesmaids and her personal attendant were there for her the whole day. <3

GRANDBABY! We will be ending the year with a new grand baby! My husband and I are excited for our first granddaughter! We are expecting the birth of this precious little girl sometime before December. We had a baby shower for Brittany this last weekend. She is under the care of a midwife, and her pregnancy is going well. The boys can hardly wait for their baby sister’s arrival. I’m sharing a few pictures that my friends (Erin and Kristy) and I took that highlighted the day of her shower. Check out that pregnant belly!

It was apparent the birthday girl was going to win the clothespin game. She was good at stealing others clothespins for saying ‘baby.’

This girl loves hedgehogs AND llamas!

My baby girls 🙂

I bought this arrangement from Target for $5.99. They were so beautiful and opened up so perfectly!
We are beyond blessed from all the love and generosity our friends and family have shown/given this year. We sincerely thank and appreciate each and every one of you who have touched our hearts this year.
With so much coming before the end of the year (plus 6 more babies as a doula and midwifery student), I’m quite sure this will be my only blog post this year. So to all who are reading, thank you! May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed and wonderful New Year!
Cute! Loved seeing all these pictures, thanks for sharing!! ?
