Testimonials

I would never give birth again without Rhonda Huot.

My midwife brought Rhonda along when she came to attend my VBAC homebirth. I had never met Rhonda before that day, but I immediately felt like I had  known her my whole life. Somehow she always knew just what I needed. No sooner would I think I needed to change positions than she would suggest it. The minute I wondered how the baby was doing, she would ask the midwife to check. The straw was in my mouth before I could say I was thirsty. It was awesome!

My labor was long & difficult, but Rhonda was up to the challenge. Helping me get in & out of the multitude of positions we tried was a real test of physical endurance. She spent hours: providing counter pressure for my back labor, massaging my legs, pressing down on my hips or holding my legs up during contractions. She worked so well with the rest of my birth team that you would have sworn they worked together every day.

One of my favorite things about Rhonda was that she understood my need to be coached through EVERY contraction & she was great at it! I read a lot about the Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth & spent time practicing his relaxation techniques. Because of that, when Rhonda reminded me to relax a certain area of my body, I knew what that meant & I knew how to do it. I can not express how helpful it was for me to have that common vocabulary.

Rhonda also took beautiful photos after our birth, called to check on our family & made sure nursing was going well for us. She is a great example of what Aristotle meant when he said, “pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.
